Default Drag Racing !!please help!!

What is the best methoud for launching a stick, i seem to get my best 60' when i launch from 2500-3000 and about 1/3 throttle and let the tires spin a bit and when i feel them grab hit hit the gas i.e 2.1xx on the other hand if i hit the gas too early i get my worst 60' at 2.4-2.8  and i really don't want to ride the clutch much since i am not looking forward to having to replace it again any time soon. Any other techniques or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you are on street tires, do you do a light dry burn out before you stage up?

Of course a line lock so you could do a nice burn out and some DRs to hook you up would be the answer.

i am still in shock from the $1400 bill to replace my clutch, i used to ride the sheet out of my clutch on the camaro when i raced and never had any problems. Maybe after a few more poopiety 60' i will start riding it a little more

hey at least you're getting in the 2.1 range - I couldn't get past a 2.3 with my car and it's an automatic! I ran a 13.6 but with a 2.3 60' - I'm pretty sure that I should be down in the 1.8-1.9 range.....

but i did hit .5 and .6 lights all night, finally got the timing down in the vette, even hit a .503

I think that may have been part of the problem as well i was concentrating on hitting my lights and wasn't too worried about my 60' i usually run 2.2 pretty consistently
