Ticking like a time bomb
I recently did a bunch of coolant system work (new thermostat, TB bypass, coolant flush and new radiator cap) and in the process, took the opportunity to degrease and clean the intake and front end of the engine. Car runs fine, but now I suddenly have a loud ticking that sounds like it is coming from the drivers side exhaust intake / pre-cat area.
Is there an easy way to tell if I have an exhaust leak? Could the water and degreaser gotten onto the exhaust manifold gasket and screwed it up? Any ideas?

If it's like mine, I believe I do have an exhaust manifold leak. I used Seafoam a couple of months ago and did notice some of the smoke generated coming up from the eninge area near the exhaust manifolds...mainly on the drivers side, which seems to be where a majority of the noise I have is coming from.

Update
Got under the car yesterday on the lift and sure enough......the driver's side pre-cat and the main cat are both ticking like they are going to explode. What an opportune time to get a new exhaust system from Magnaflow!!

Got a full front to back Magnaflow exhaust with high flow cats the other day from www.hottexhaust.com (really great deal......cheap price, free delivery and free Magnaflow high flow main cat) and I finally had a chance to install it yesterday. Took me a full 6 hours to install, but boy does it look and sound sweet. Very clean and well fitted.
