Default ´91 injectors

Three of my injectors show low ohm reading. Two are at 6.5 and one at 13.9 ohm when in the car. The other ones read about 17 ohm. Haven´t checked pressure yet. What is stock on a ´91. Don´t know the type but from up to down they look grey connector, grey plastic tube like and then silver ring before they go into engine. 45k mls, aut. Live in Sweden, therefore kind of weird explanation of things. Considering you guys on the other side of this green ball are more familiar with those cars. What is easiest way to check pressure (22, 24lbs)? My auto shifts up a bit rough from second to third. Any ideas what this can be. Thanks for any input.

Replace the injectors. You have the unservicable (Multec) injectors 22lb. Use a fuel pressure guage attached to the schrader valve to check fuel pressure. From the ohming them you confirmed the coil resistance is shot one a few of them.

Summit Racing summitracing.com has 24 lbs injectors that will fit your car. They are Ford Motor Racing and sell for about $389.00 US. I think you should have a transmission specialist diagnose the problem. Do you have an Autobahn in Sweden with no speed limits? I've been to Europe a few times and love driving with no speed limits.

WOW I just checked that summitracing.com websiste and I found these: Guys will these fit a C4. I have an 88 and would like a set of them. $291.00 is cheap for good injectors. What do you think?

Ford Racing High Flow Fuel Injectors Fuel injectors made for performance.

Ford Motorsports offers these sets of high-flow rate fuel injectors that are specifically designed for performance applications. The injectors work best with air meters with revised calibrations, and have been specially trimmed for high flow rates.

If you change to a PSI rating other than OEM, don't you have to have a chip burned to compensate for the change? I really don't think it's as easy as just "plug and play".

The tuner suggest using stock fuel pressure and will be tuning for the difference in injector constant in the chip. If one was to go with a different injector than came stock, there will need to be a change in fuel pressure without having a tune..depends on the situation. Best is to have the tuner adjust it or get on a dyno.

These should all ohm out at 16.5, +/- .3, according to Chevrolet technical bulletins on injector service, so as mentioned above, replacement is due. By your description of what you have, it sounds like you have the original Rochester Products (denoted by the RP on the side of the injector) Multitech unit. What you use is a whole different subject.

I put Bosch 22.5 lb. injectors in my 1991 that is all stock except for a Magnaflow exhaust with good results. The car definitely idles smoother, and starts up like new, but it is all a matter of preference.

Only in Germany you will find autobahn´s wich partially have no speedlimit. All the other European countries have speedlimits on their "autobahn" motorways or whatever you wanna call them. In Sweden speedlimits are 110 km/h wich is about 68 mph. Some areas they have raised to 120 km/h or 74 to 75 mph wich is the same as in Holland and Belgium too I think. France has a 130 km/h or 81 mph, the other countries I´m not sure but it´s about the same there. I´ll check if I can find an auto-specialist here, and those injectors were not so expensive as I thought they would be. Maybe I´ll have them shipped over here. I´ll do some checking on that one too. Thanks for the tip, are they OK for a stock car without changing or modifying anything? Maybe Vader 86 has an answer here. He seems to know a lot about this I´ve read.

Thanks for the advice, that might be an idea to check that also but what i really meant were the injectors itself. This value of 22 lbs or 24 lbs wich I have read about. But now there is one that suggests to replace them with new ones. I think i´ll just do that. I asked a company here in Sweden and they said they could only get one type of injector for my car and thatthey would cost, hang on now, 1800 Swedish crownes wich is 242 dollars each. Don´t know if that was right, maybe they have gold tips and jacuzzi each.
