Default Need Info on Melrose Headers ...94 LT1

I have a 1994 Corvette Coupe, automactic with an LT1 that has some mods (cam/rockers/programming). The vette spends 95% of it use time on the drag strip. This winter I would like to change out the "shortie" Pacemaker headers for long tubes. I ran across the web site for Melrose Exhaust Headers and have corresponded with Chris at their shop - the Melrose Headers look like a very good choice for a C4 LT1 vette. I had never heard of Melrose until I found their web site so I'm looking for some comments from someone who might be running them on his vette - hopefully a C4 LT1. I currently have Power Effects mufflers and pipes form the stock "cats" back. Anybody got any idea if the Melrose LT Headers and "cats" would allow me to keep the Power Effects presently on my Vette and bolt-up to the current system's piping? Thanks - all comments and info welcomed.

Bill: I have installed a set of MELROSE on a 89' L98 in our 87' C4 the headers where an easy fit coming up from the bottom . All the spacers where included and I did use as VADER suggested the Stage 8 locking header bolts now they (bolts) where a little problem but not hard to work with. I bought the complete system X-pipe, no-cats from the extension tube the pipes are choked down from 3" to 21/2" so just about anybodys mufflers will fit. I did have a fitment issue on the pipes as they wrap around the transmission (auto) and to get my x-brace back up (convertable) but the guys at Melrose and RT where GREAT to WORK WIth and GOT the issue resolved. Man did it help to clean up the engine compartment and made easy to change wires and plugs even more so after we took out all the AIR and EGR crap . Will try to post some pictures before too long. I did a lot of research on headers and prices and I felt that these where the BEST BANG for the BUCK. Beside Chris will sell you what you want you can get them JET HOT coated (I recommend drops temps) or leave them bare. WRO87

I have installed a couple sets of these headers on C5's and I will be installing their C6 Z06 system at the end of this month. I am sure that if you were to purchase these headers you would find them of excellent design and quality. So far I have been pleased with their fit, finish and quality.

I would go with TPiS long tube headers instead of melrose. they are easy install and smooth flowing where as melrose has had problems with o2 plugs not going in because the firewall is right there and just dont seem to be as smooth flowing as TPiS. Just my advice.

The Exotic Muscle longtubes I installed on my 93 were the easiest mod I have done. They slipped right in and bolted up like cake.
