Default RD pedal mount - help please

asked earlier about install process and was told to simply follow directions and it's straight up. This evening I got as far as getting the pedal unbolted, but can not get it down far enough to disconnect the cable even though the throttle end is jammed open as instructed. Suspect it is because of the ASR and the directions are unclear about how to get slack there. Can anyone please help ?

96LT1 if it matters, Thanks Steve

Sounding stupid now but, because the cable goes thru the ASR, would that allow more slack ? Would it screw up the cable adjustment ?

Thanks.

Just remove the cable from the ASR when the pedal mount is unbolted from the firewall you can pull the cable down and out of the top of the pedal assembly. I wrote the instructions so just about anybody can do the installation.

I gotta side with vettmike on this one.

It took me about 15 minutes to install the piece following his instructions. If you wedged open the TB, you should have plenty of extra cable to slip it out of the throttle arm without messing with the ASR.

OK, so I admit in advance that maybe I am just too stupid to do this install that everyone says is a piece of cake and takes 15 minutes.
For background though, I'm an engineer and have been in the car hobby for over 30 years with multiple vettes, streetrods and muscle cars.

I have done everything the excellent directions written by vettmike say, disconnected the cable at the TB and still can not get enough freakin slack to get the freakin pedal down far enough to disconnect the freakin cable from the pedal. Since the cable from the TB is routed through the ASR, I believe this is the problem, but all replies to date do not say anything about this.

This is making me crazy - pleading one last time for the missing piece of advice.....
