Default Need help with suspension

I've recently installed the lowering kit on the rear of my car while doing a ujoint job. The problem is one side is sitting lower than the other. I started with three threads showing below the nyloc nut on both sides. The stance was close to the same. But lower on the passenger side. I wanted both sides higher so I adjusted the drivers side 1 1/2 turns which raised it about a 1/4 of an inch. I then did the same on the other side with and saw no change. The passenger side now has around 8 threads or more showing and hasn't seemed to change at all. The only thing I can think of is maybe I tightened the tie-rod bolt too tight when I put everything back together from the ujoint job. Would this keep it from adjusting? I would like to get the right stance on the car before I take it to have the alignment done but this is taking a while.

Any ideas? Thanks!

If you are jacking up the car one side at a time, you may be preloading the sway bar...

Just a thought, perhaps try disconnecting the sway bar while you make the adjustment...

Just a thought..

Put the car on a level spot measure a spot on both sides to the ground. Turn the nylock nuts to level the car where you want it, don't worry about the amount of threads showing. Take the car for a short ride, this will let everything set down in place. Park on the level area again & check your measurement & re-adjust, you might have to do this a few times to get it exact, but don't worry about the amount of threads showing.

Sounds good, I'll try it. I did most of the adjustments with the car on stands. The last time I did it with the car on the ground. I think I'll go buy some new bushings and replace them which may help too. Thanks for your help!

Well, tried adjusting but the height didn't change at all. I'm thinking I might release the spring on both sides and start over. Maybe it is preloading the sway bar. Anyway, I'd really like to drive it since this will be one of our last nice, warm weekends for a while.

Try just taking for a drive, that seems to reset everything after the adjustments...

Okay, measured from the ground to the lip of the fender and both match up about even. Measured from the top of the tire to the lip of the fender and they're off by 1/2"? Think this is an alignment issue?

Put the car on flat level ground, and measure from the frame to the ground. Then youll know if its at the same height both sides.

you'll need to choose--looks or performance....''leveling'' the car so that it ''looks right'' will likely ''wedge'' the crossweight (affects cornering greatly, straight ahead to lesser degree) ....if you equalize the crossweight, using scales at each wheel, expect one side to sit higher ....all good circle track racers own a set of scales, going price to scale your car should be $50-$100 max (''scale'' means ''adjust using scales'', not just record data)
