Ok so I noticed a leak, and tracked it back to the PS rack-n-pinion the rubber boot wont stay on with the tires turned to the right, and is leakeing where the shaft slides in/out of the assembly.
SO I went to my parts store and looked up the price of a new one....
$244 for 16" wheels
$177 for 17" wheels
Price is fine, but WHAT do I get for my car? I currently have 16" wires... swaping for 17" ZR-1's... should I get the one for the 17"?
ALSO, WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??????
I'd look into the seal kit but I don't know enough about the rack and pinions... (still a beginner but growing wiser with each day here )
The only difference is "fast" or "slow" steering. The "fast" is almost two turns, lock to lock, and the "slow" is about 2 1/3 turns lock to lock. They are interchangeable. It is more about personal preference than anything else.
I personally like less revolutions at the steering wheel... But would a faster steering bother the cars suspension setup at a speed above 60-70mph? or would it react faster?
Btw, which is what? 16" slower?
and thanks for the input

Your car could have been built with either, so I wouldn't sorry about handling problems. The fast steering was a part of the Z51 package in some years. My parts book shows the slow steering with the 16" X 8.5"" (PY3) wheels.
I'm assuming mine came with the 16" being that I have 16" wires... but I don't have the original console door so I can't check to see and I'm not going after a build sheet from the stories I've heard about them being fraile.
So I'll just get the one for 17" since I'm putting 17" on the car, and it's cheaper plus quicker lock-to-lock...
