Some folks have said that the A4 shaft could be used as is. But ideally it should be shortened an inch. Same goes for the C beam, it can be redrilled in the front. But if you did so, I'd recommend using beam plates with it. So, it can be done with just the differential and batwing. But it's even easier if you can also obtain the manual drive shaft and C beam. Then all you have to do is put your A4 yoke on the front of the D44 drive shaft.

To shorten the driveshaft you put it in a lathe and cut through the weld on one end to get the end off, then cut however much off the length of the tube that you want to shorten it by, again in a lathe. Then put the end back in the tube and re-weld it all the way around. Best done in a lathe so you can get it aligned well. Then balance it.
