My number 7 plug was oil fouled, it had oil on the insulator up to the boot. I have an oil leak coming from the valve cover right above the plug. My question is, can the oil seep through to the cylinder or do is oil coming through a valve guide or past the rings?
pull the plug, was oil on the electrodes?
if so, not from rockers, or you would hear a exhaust leak from that sparkplug if it was loose, combustion pressure is way greater than oil migrating through the threads, so i would blow the oil off the plug threads.
use a leakdown type compression tester, not just a gauge. get one at pep boys or a good auto parts store.
you can hear the air going through the valves, or through the breather.
if it's coming out the oil fill hole, it's rings, if coming from the intake, out past the throttle body, or out the tail pipe, it's valves.
if it's valves it's a valve seal.
replace the valve seals, and start saving for a valve job
on the other hand, replace your plug wires, and see if the plugs stop fouling.
or do both and put in a high voltage coil, and burn that oil off
