can someone help me with a carfax search? i'm getting ready to sell my '84. I know it has had a tough life before I bought it. I have tried to address all of the problems that have come around, and think I have done a good job of it. Still I want to be as honest as I can about the condition of the car. So if anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
buyer beware. i agree with being as honest as possible with your sale, but at the same time, i would leave the car fax up to the buyer, as it is their option/burden.
The Corvette Forum does not condone any activity which is dishonest, unethical or immoral with that said, members are prohibited from offering free Carfax reports to their fellow members via their agreement.
Although such activity does not directly affect the forum, it does promote a procedure which the forum deems to be inappropriate.
Carfax is used as an example, but, the rule will apply to any similar activity or business.
A carfax account is so cheap when compared to the investment in a vehicle. $25 a month or $20 a car is squat compared to eating it when you find out something bad later on, your buyer should understand that. If you want one for your records, $20 towards one really ain't much compared to most corvette expenses.
If your buyer wants a carfax leave that option up to them. If they are so cheap that they want you to purchase it, you don't want them as your buyer; they'll be just as tight when it comes to making an offer on the car.
