Default Car boiled over?

Ok today i left the car on for about 15 min and when i came back theres smoke all over the hood and when i lift the hood i n oticed ati-freeze all over the floor and the coolant in the resivoir was boiling alot.I also noticed the fan never came on.I also had to put water in the radiator 2 days ago becousr the water pump was leaking. I need some advice on why this happened.Thanks in advance

when you say "antifreeze all over the floor" do you mean the garage/driveway or the passenger side floor?

If the engine is not too cooked, start with fresh oil. Coolant flush and replace with 50/50 distilled and DexCool. When the above is completed, check under the water pump for leaking, it could of gone south and took your Opti in the process.

Good advise to follow, but he has a 86 I believe. Use the green coolant. Dexcool for 95 & 96.

Thermostat get stuck perhaps? I'd also replace it.
