Here is my latest design on my X pipe. I have added two 3" core resonator mufflers to the end of the pipe in hopes of toning down the dreaded BB Exhaust exhaust resonance issues in our C4's. I don't know if its going to work but I know it can't hurt either, well other than my pocket book
It is going to be installed today if I can find some SS Band clamps. Once it is in place I will post my results or lack of them
Did the exact same thing to my B&B exhaust 5 weeks or so ago. it definitely helps the resonance. I'm planning on adding 2 more in place of the cats in the front I used to have to help some more. The resonance will still be loudest at the same rpm.. just more bearable.
nice job!..........magnaflow makes a 2.5 inch x pipe inside a glass pack......thats what I have....I thought the effect on resonance was minimal.......put it in place of the cat.........definate seat of the pants increase in hp though.

Check with Magnaflow too. They have some dual in and out mufflers, 4" center to center with an internal X-pipe. I'm getting ready to install one on mine (as a resonator) as soon as everything else I need shows up.
I added mine right at the back of the B&B system before they angled up towards the mufflers. Did this so we could position the mufflers exactly where I wanted them then welded them up. I have sound clips of before/after, I'll try to upload some and post links.
Well, I got my new resonated X pipe installed last night. While it did change the exhaust note (minor change) the resonance is still there At least it was a easy attempt to fix it. My next attempt with be some auto actuated valves using the valving mechanism from a C6 Z06 bi-mode exhaust system........or what the heck maybe I will just buy that damn new Z06 .......I wish!!
I had 2-3/4" X-pipes for a while (a few guys here are running them)... sold out of them pretty quickly. Version 2.0 is in the works, but the manufacturer is dragging their feet (I'm on my 2nd one now). Once completed, this will be a true "bolt on" resonator replacement X-pipe. Timeframe is likely the end of next month at the earliest.

I think that's the one I have. It's well made and works great. A bolt on would be even better for those that don't already have one.
