It's almost that time of year when Vette owners in cold climates think about storing there car. I have a question concerning gas stabilizers. With ethanol in the gas now does it matter what kind of stabilizer is used? Is there a brand out that is prefered over others? In the Northeast Pep Boys Auto Parts Stores carry Sta-bil which says it can be used with ethanol. Appreciate any info.
stabil is it. Fill the tank full, put about 4 ounces in (read directions on bottle) and run engine for 5 minutes or so before parking your baby. Thats it, thats all.
We own a nursrey and some of our equipment sits for months at a time. We have used STABIL for years and I have never had an issue with water or varnishing. I also use it in my generators at the nursery and at home. There are others and they may work. I usually stick with one brand if it works for me.
Thanks for the all info concerning Sta-bil. Thats what I intend to use this year but it sucks to think I even have to consider putting the car up for the winter. I need to move to a warmer climate. Any suggestions?
Something else that we use and I have been using for over 40 years now is Marvel Mystery Oil. It is an old timers thing excellent upper cylinder oil especally with all the alcohol in use now. We been using 1 once per gallon all year long. It can be picked up at most farm stores about $12 a gallon. wro87
