No, but have fun replacing those plenum gaskets! [/evil laugh]

Sam, your motor looks cleaner than my dishes. Where do you get the PPG?

I had a PITA time lining up the plenum bolt holes and holding the upper runner gaskets in place, when I did mine.

Best way I found while the lower runner bolts were still attached was - slide the plenum in place between both runners. Then, using a flat head screw driver, lightly pry between the plenum and upper runner, and slip the gasket into place. For slight gasket adjustment, I did the pry trick while one bolt was in place, then tapped the gasket from the bottom to move it up, or vice versa.

Probably a bit easier with the bottom runner bolts loosened.

Just recently did my engine as well. I have a few small details to finish but I powdercoated both the black and red. The black is a 10% crinkle(closest thing I found to match the callaway treatment) and a 120% Transparent red gloss. No clearcoat.Still have to do the master cylendar.

Simply undo the 4 TORX head screws, remove the PCV and lift them off.

The Pittsburg Paint & Glass DX 501 product may be obtained from any PPG automobile paint supply house. I think the quart bottle cost about $12 (my memory is going bad ). I am sure there are similiar products that condition aluminum for painting. Agent86 was the one that suggested I use this prior to painting (if I recall correctly). Here is a picture of the bottle and the Rustoleum paint that I used.

Hope this info is helpful to forum members.

If you use the plastic position tabs it make installing the gaskets a breeze. Push in the tabs and those gaskets are not going anywhere.

I had to buy some more stuff to do the job. So, it looks like I will have to do it next weekend. I just want to be done with this and a few other things before Turkey Rod Run (next month). I will come back with pics next week.
Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions.

Sam, thanks for the info. I'll look for that PPG or something similar.

The tabs weren't workin for me so I just cut them off. The fit was tight between the plenum and runners since I left the lower bolts attached.

I did the polished look with the centers of the plenum painted red on my old Bird,

I've got the magnesium vette valve covers to go on my 88 Formula, I need to sand them down and repaint them, probably do a red and black theme.
