so then you do agree that you get SOMETHING from it, even if not felt by the seat of your pants...

what, tin snips to the airbox top? for almost literally zero benfit? you won't feel a thing, but your filter gets ugly dirty quick and must be replaced alot more often (assuming its paper).

that makes no sense, costs more, and frankly is downright irritating.

so no, there's nothing to admit. where is this bargain you speak of????

look, i got the open lid/k&n farce sitting in my basement for the last 2 years. trust me, its doing alot more good there than it is on my car.

i did that gig when i fell into the collective stupidity 2 years ago at that time, when there were more folks talking about doing it right here on this forum. back then i didn't know any better and obviously those folks didn't either. now we do.

Here is something I am curious since this is a constant discussion...

how many square inches of space does the little slits in the stock air lid have?

How many square inches of space does the 3" diameter of the intake housing into the MAF have?

so.. whatever the slits in the air lid equal to, I wonder if this is equal to "just the right amount" that the whole intake assembly can flow?

also another question...
Since this doesn't show up on a dyno, and seems to show up more on a 1/4 run... why does it show up on a 1/4 run, when it is still encased under a closed hood where no air is being rammed into it (like with a ramair setup)?

... I am just trying to see things from perhaps another perspective that I never looked at before.
