Default coil ? on a LT1

I was showing a friend my car last night and the engine was running. Well right there where the coil is you could see a glow blink on on the right and then left and it did this the whole time. I just replaced my coil about a week ago, is this normal or did I get a bad coil?
The car has been running rough for about a year and I just can't seem to track down the problem.

maybe the wires are bad, or you need to clean the head where the coil is bolted down.

If you are talking about arking, you should not see any arking from the base of the coil to ground. Make sure your coil wire outer insulation is not breaking down and causing the ark. I know the coil is new, but make sure it is clean and dry of any moisture. Other than that, was your original coil doing the same?

I've heard so many comments about the small arcing/glowing around the LT1 ignition coil, that I am starting to believe this is normal.

Sounds like you have a coil wire that is breaking down and building up enough resistance that the spark escapes. Try replacing the coil wire and see what happens.
On my LT1 there is no sparking around the coil.
