headliner on removable top
Go down to your local fabric store (take the wife or gf so you don't look so fruity shopping in the fabric section haha)...
...anyway, get enough material to cover the area you want.
Then get a can of either the Super 77 spray from the same store... OR goto the auto parts store and get the even stronger headliner spray adhesive.
Pull the old stuff off, leaving the padding/insulation.
Cut the new material to leave some extra around all the edges of the space you want to put it.
Spray the padding down really well, let it sit for 30 secs or so to get tacky, then smooth out the new material onto it. Take a flat edge of something and tuck all the edges of the material into all the edges. Let it dry (shouldn't take too long).
Take a razor blade and gently go around all the edges to cut out the excess material, being careful not to cut it too short so it starts to peel back out of the edges. You will be sticking the blade way up into the crack of the edges so that as much extra material as possible will still remain inside the edges tucked away. This is important for it not coming out again in the future.
When done you should have a nice looking headliner

Go for something customized while you are at it. My car is all black and white, so i went with 1" square checkered flag material. Its wild, but I loved it (I have since retired that roof due to an accident with it)
You might want to get something mild to color match your car or something too. It just adds a little bit extra fun to your car each time you get in and drive it
The whole project shouldn't cost more than $10 and 30 mins of time to do.
