My problem is with a camaro but it has the L98 motor so I thought you guys could help.
Up until Fri it was running great. On Fri I had the convertor taken out (Vig 2800) and had my stock one put back in.
Since this was was done the idle is really rough and when I take off from a start it is really lacking in power and there is a shuddering feeling until about 2500 rpm. Also when cruising in OD the convertor should be locked up but when I tap the brakes the rpm's just stay the same like its not unlocking.
Is it possible the convertor not being put on right would be messing this up?
The guy who did it seems to think it is ignition related like its missing at low rpm but it was running awesome before the convertor change.
Please help!
Sorry.. I don't know the answer to your question, but I would like to know if you're selling your 2800 Vig :D. Send me an e-mai lif you are and how much you are asking.
Re-adjust the TV cable at the rear TB bracket.
Also, sometimes you need to rotate the converter 180º or so at times to see where the best balance is.
Last but not least, check the fluid level hot and cold as well.
My bet is on the TV cable being not adjusted to the stock type converter.
Forgot to add, sometimes when a tranny is removed the engine moves backwards and can crack the dist. cap on the firewall.
Every shop manual says to remove the dist or the cap to prevent breakage or problems with the ignition upon removal of the trans.
Dont overlook this possibility.
Thanks for all your help. This is strange but it turned out to be a burnt plug wire which was basically having me running on 7 cylinders. Strange that it just happened to burn thru and lay on the header at that particular time.
Oh well I'm glad that's all it was.
Thanks again!
