Default Oil?

Just got back from vette show on Sunday. Most vette owners use Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Is this reccomended for all vettes because of the engine temps?

I think it is a good synthetic, it is what I use, but there are many others that people like as much/more than Mobile1.

When I had my 88 it had a small oil leak at the valve covers. I switched to Mobil 1, oil pressure came up a little bit, but held a steadier lower pressure when warm. That valve cover leak did not increase. If you change to Mobil 1 be prepared to chase down and resolve oil leaks that might spring up. The engine seemed happier with the Mobil 1 over the dino oil. Just an impression, nothing to say it really helped anything other than a steadier oil pressure when hot.

1992 and newer the factory fill is Mobil 1 so I'm sticking with it in my 92.
