So mhere's the deal i have an 86 tpi l98 its throwing a code33 and a code 45. i think it has to do with faulty wiring to the MAF power relay, looks as if the person i bought the car off of accidently ripped the wires out of the pigtail and didn't wire them back in correctly, so from left to right could anyone tell me the wire color to terminal so i can hook it back up correctly.
i believe that the maf is telling the computer that their is more air entering the engine than actually is "code 33" wich in turn puts more fuel than needed resulting in my rich running "code 45" and i think wiring is at fault for mafs confusion. also ses goes on and off depending on weather. always same codes
I would have to look at my wiring to tell you exactly. There is a pdf that AGENT 86 did for you. Hard to tell form the pic, but maybe it will help. I would suggest to fix the code 33 first then disconnect the battery for ~30 seconds and start the engine to see if the code 45 comes back. http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/Code%2033.pdf
thx for the links saw those in the sticky a long time ago but forgot where they were. just one more question coud someone look at their pigtail and tell me left to right the color of the wires on the maf power relay, the sticky just shows the rout it doesnt give how they would go into it
I can let you know the colors in order, but I'm at work tonight and won't be able to get to my 86 until 6am. If no one has posted these, I will let you know.

If you look at the maf connector, you will see each terminal has an alphabet. If you look at the engine to ecm pdf, you will see the color for each alphabet on connectors.
Also, the wires probably were not ripped out. The anti-corrosion crap that GM used on those connectors will eat the insulation off the wires. My 86 had the same probably. I just added some tape to keep them apart. It had eat away the insulation for about an inch outside the connector shell. I was surprised that it didn't short.
my wires are exactly the same way taped them up long time ago. so i cleared the codes the drove it around again to get it to throw a code again, code 33 is the only one to come back. weird though it only throws it when i first drive it before it warms up or if its really freaking cold out, once warmed up if i turn the car off then back on code goes away and stays away. well time to start trouble shooting code 33.......
well checked everthing wiring ok, im pretty sure its the maf sensor found an old thread that micro tech mafs have a higher output than boshe. One paticular thread had someones that acted up when it gets cold out and thats the only time mine throw a code 33, my exhuast also smells of running rich. Should i get a hot wire type? suggestions

Don't blame the MAF until you have followed the troubleshooting charts posted above. If you follow the chart and it says replace the MAF, then that is your next step. I would replace it with a OEM MAF.
