Well i have my new 85 Vette, which I love !! its a great car..
This may be a stupid question but..........
I was checking out all my feature's, getting ready to take my top off for the first time .... ohh ya.. and i realized i didnt have the tool so let me check around. I also said to my self, that i know theese older vettes have electrical problems so i bough a fire exting to keep in the vehicle "just in case"
Well, when looking into the car from the rear you have the two pannels, right / left that flip open to a compartment. In the compartment is the tray that you can take out. On the left side if looking at the car underneath the compartment was a fire extinguisher (mounted), and a little leather "looking" circle pouch that holds the top removal tool.
Just wondering if every one has this stuff?
Im going to have to guess and say "NO" on the Fire Ext, (probably a custom job) although it looks like its from 85.
I don't know of any year vettes that came from the factory with a fire extinguisher! as far as the targa tool, my 87 has a bracket in the center console to hold it. Congrats on the new ride.

if a car came with a stock fire ext, I think I would not buy it
mine was missing the ratchet when I bought it so the dealer took it out of another car since I was ready to remove the roof right then for my first drive home.
But it lives in the arm rest compartment, as others said, there is a little clip that holds it in place inside there. I keep a tire gauge there instead though.
