85 AT transmision problem
Hope someone here can point me in the right direction as far as what could be the problem with my transmission.
Was driving the car yesterday, went to leave from a stop, put my foot into the gas pedal pretty hard. It started out ok, then when it came to the 1-2 shift, it was like the transmission was not there. It revved to the moon, so I let off the gas, it then shifted into 2nd very hard. Now it will not go into 4th. If I try to make it go into 4th, nothing happens. I can put it into the 3rd position on the selector, or I can do a manual shift using, 1,2 then 3 and it works fine. Also, if I go from the 3 position to the 4th position on the selector, it feels like I put some extra drag on it, the car will start slowing down a bit. Can put it back into 3 and the feeling goes away.
Anyone know what the problem might be?
Also, does not feel like the lock-up is working either.
