Congrats on your Wally, though be aware that LT Headers are technically NOT legal in CA due to the non-factory O2 Sensor location (and CARB won't allow Heated O2 Sensors either), which might cause you to fail the visual? That said you'll probably find someone to help you out come smog time.
The exhaust plan for my 91 Z07 is to swap out the Factory Header for a 1/3/4" Shorty with AIR fittings (adapting the factory heat shields to that for camouflage), add two CATs where the Pup CATs are (again using factory heat shields for camouflage), and then gut the main CAT, and a CAT Back whatever after that. That should pass visual and be good for 450 CHP.

You are absolutely correct. I still have my stock exhaust headers and precats to reinstall for the "visual" come emissions testing time next year. I also had a bolt/flange welded to where the headers connect to the main cat to make the switch easier every other year.
TJ Wong tested the emissions while I was at his place and the engine runs very clean, so I expect no problems with the stock headers and additional pre cats installed.
WTG George!
In time, I just may have to drive up to Vancouver Washington and pay TJ Wong a visit unless I can find someone else here in the San Francisco Bay Area who can duplicate his work.

Give this place a call - Precision Motive in Hayward 510-886-0789 - Pat is your man to talk to. Tell him Terrence referred you. They work on C1 - C4 Corvettes. They know these things like the back of thier hands. No need to drive to TJ......unless you really want to.
Over the last couple years I have read some big power and drag performance numbers on CF, certainly bigger than mine, but in bracket racing, the fastest is not the key: a good RT, knowing how to dial in the car and a little treachery when called for is the rule.
Mainly this is just an "attaboy" to those of us who are a bit slower but still want to play. There is hope for us and I have the Wally to prove it!
First, CONGRATULATIONS! That is one helluva feeling. I have to back your comments about the slower, "little guys", 100%. My poor ol' worn out, almost stock, Crossfire drove the 850 miles to the then Sears Point Raceway, in 2000, and won the Race of Champions in the Sportsman class at the Division 7 Bracket Finals. It then drove the 850 miles back home, too. I had to fly to Las Vegas to the Division 7 banquet to get my engraved Wally and Summit racing jacket embroidered with my name and the win. Less than 12 months later, I won the National Dragster Challenge at my local track, for a total of two Wallys in less than one year. I agree that the "little guy" can do it. My motto is "Youth and enthusiasm will be overcome by old age and treachery".
Wow, CFI. The ROC win is huge. That is as tough a competition as there is. I'll bet you wore a grin all the way to LV and home again. Very impressive! Then to back it up is awsome. Please do not come visit my track.

Thanks Terrence for the referral. I believe you are talking about Pat Hendrix a long time Corvette racer and had no idea that Pat was into chip programing on the early C4's.
When I get ready, I will be sure to give him a call and tell him that you sent me. Does Pat have a dyno service there as well?

If it's a chip tune you need - there is a place past Sacramento that burns chips for 85-91 C4's - I can't remember the name of the place off hand. Shoot Caboboy (Tim) a PM - he had his car tuned there.
