Default thank you and help needed

i have been reading corvette forum for a number of years before buying my '94 6-speed, all stock. I thank each of you for your honest replys, telling it as it is, what works and what doesnt work, and for your willingness to share what you know. this is invaluable for novices like myself. again, thank you. question: i would like for my stock 6 speed to have a better exhaust "sound". not so loud on the inside but to sound like the 60's car's did. i personally would like to be able to hear it from the inside but still be able to hear the wife tell me "there a highway patrolmen up ahead." thanks again.

be careful with exhaust upgrades. If it's too loud, you will run into problems with interior resonance, and that boom will make your ears bleed.

I suggest Corsa. It give a great rip at WOT, a very quite cruise, but with a subduded rumble in the back ground, and a healthy idle.

If it is too loud it can become annoying, but the best exhaust note is left best to be chosen by the owner.

the real pain is that resonance. in 6th gear at highway speeds there is a constant drone in my car so when i drove it from Virginia to Iowa (with no cruisecontrol) I spent most of my time in 5th and just ran a higher rmp and it destroyed my gas milage

Default check out corsa.com website...

they have some awesome sounds you can listen to... they don't have C4's, but you can get a pretty good idea (with C5's) of the roar at WOT, and the rumble (without drone) at cruise. I have a 94 LT1 also, and plan to do a Corsa cat-back as soon as the budget allows.

if you like the Corsa system, check out the prices for them on Jegs. Much cheaper, for the same thing. Free shipping, too.

WacoJohn,

I too am a long time reader like you and I've found these guys experiences and advice invaluable.

Right after I bought my vette (before I found this place) I upgraded my mufflers from something like turbo's (which had AWFUL resonance) to DynoMax mufflers which eliminated the resonant drone....but cost me top dollar AND are the same size as the factory ones (huge). I'm not unhappy with them.....just that I have since learned (thanks to this forum) that Corsa's have everything I really wanted and would have been cheaper.....AND looked better to boot.

Yeah....I'll go with Corsa's when these die, for sure.
