What are the limitations of the stock lines as far as flow or hp is concerned? What about the stock fuel pressure regulator? If I toss a really big fuel pump on there will I have trouble getting the fuel pressure down to stock levels?
i have been told the stock pump will feed about 400hp if you are getting a good burn. as for the lines yes alot I have seen people who have had to T-joint the fuel inlet so that each fule rail was fed equaly since the crossover pipe on the fuel rails is in serries they needed it in parrallel but I think that was 396 supercharged motor puting out about 700+hp
I'm not worried about the stock pump since it's long gone. I'm worried about the limitations of the regulator or the lines. Some cars have limitations at the regulator; if there's too much fuel flow coming through, they won't be able to keep the pressure steady. The reason I ask is because I already have a 255 in tank and I'm thinking of hooking up a big sx external fuel pump (the efi one). I'm going to change this in hopes of around 800+ hp. SC motors take more fuel than nitrous motors so I'm planning on having plenty of flow and huge fuel injectors(60's or 72's). I'm already running low 11's with the stock converter leaving off idle.
Yeah that'd be a lot of fuel with boost. You could try asking over in the FI/Nitrous section. I ran a search for you there, one post says 700+ HP with stock lines.
