Does anyone know where I can get original bleeder screws for a '94 rear caliper and '00 front caliper, or the part numbers to them? I've been looking everywhere and can not find them sold seperately from the caliper
i wouldn't think there's anything special about them, but i don't know for sure. i would think you could order them from your local chevy dealer, or go take the originals to your local NAPA dealer for a correct match-up and replacement. suggestion - go with speed bleeders - definetly worth the $$$ -
I know lots of people like the speed bleeders but I don’t leave them in. A would like to, but have a problem with them sealing well. They don’t seem to tighten like the standard bleeder valve and I am afraid of over tightening them and messing up the caliper. They seem to snug up but just don’t tighten and stop like the standard valve.
I have 4 bleeders, two different brands and only got one not to leak. Two I bought over the counter and two came with my J55 calipers. After I bleed the system, I transferred the bleeders from my old 12’’ calipers. I just feel better about having the standard bleeders in since I don’t bleed every week or month for that matter. This is just my personal experience.
I sure that standard bleeders can be bought from a dealer, NAPA or A/Z.
There is nothing special about them, they should ba available at a parts store or hit up the dealership.
Side note: I love the speed bleeders. You can actuall do a brake job as a one man event without any extra tools, or vacuum pumps, etc. Just a couple of vacuum hoses and a drain pan. I'll be getting a set for my Vette soon, probably doing the 13" GS brake upgrade, and I want to flush and fill with new fluid.

Put some teflon tape on the threads before you install them to help keep them from leaking.

Any decent parts store should have them. They are 10mm but I don't recall the thread pitch off hand. It is a fine one though so I'd guess it will either be 10x1.25 or 10x1. I'm sure that Napa, O'Reillys or Carquest would have them.

- last summer i did a major brake overhaul on my 85. i went with russell speed bleeders, and it makes for a one-man bleeding operation. my side note - take your originals and match them to the new bleeders. the (russell) catalog data appeared to be wrong for my application. the salesman sized them correctly, and i did not have any trouble with them leaking or anything. they snug-up nicely without excessive torque. 6 months/3K miles and zero problems -
fwiw, when I put them on my 4th gen Camaro, the lengths of the fronts were different from the rears. They sold me a set of 4, that were all the same length, specifically for the Camaro, and the rears bottomed out inside the caliper before they tightened.
Like someone else said, definately put thread tape on them, or they'll be likely to suck in air through the threads when you use bleed the brakes.

I have both the front and rear of '96 LT1 calipers orig. bleeder screws in good shape if you want them. ...if you think they fit, you can have them for free. PM me if so.
