Anyone gots pics of a healthy set of O-Rings for the fuel filter in an LT1?
I've changed my fuel filter, but it's a bit leaky. I checked out the rings and they looked good to me, but I'm no mechanic. Do I just need to really put pressure on to tighten the filter, or should I replace the rings?

My fuel filter was leaking real bad, so I decided to change it. The O-Rings were definately shot. I didn't take any photos, but the top O-Ring was chewed up. Not smooth like a new one. I put a new filter on and new O-Rings. I believe there is a torque spec, but there was no way I could get a torque wrench in there anyway. I tightened it somewhat lightly and then started the car. I noticed no leaks so I left it there. I have a bad habit of overtightening most things! :flag
You should probably replace them since the ones on there are 9 years old and leak. They should come with the filter but don't. :nonod: Now the next question, size. Try to use the old ones as a guide. Be sure to lubricate the new ones before you pur them on. :cheers:
Get new o-rings from the dealer, they are cheap. When the filter is off, feel the end of each line for burrs or sharp edges. Mine has some. Carefully de-burr with some emory cloth and then use a Q tip to clean the inside of the fuel line. Lubricate your new o-rings with heavy oil (light oil tends to rub off on your fingers) and then put on the new o-rings. Tightening an o-ring in general is counterproductive. The ones you have probably have a small cut or defect causing the leak.
