is the tpis cat back any good i was looking at there header and full exhuast system i saw that it is not true dual is that a big problem and does any one know what kind of mufflers do they use.
I believe they are Flowmasters with larger intake and outlets. You can definitely hear a noticeable sound difference but I can't vouch about the power difference.
I asked TPIS a lot of questions about the same system---they are Flowmasters. I really like the "tough" all-black look. I hope they sound tough, too. Please let us know how they sound if you get them.

I have heard the TPIS system in person, though it was on a MiniRam'd ZZ4, heads and cam motor on a '90 6 speed.
The system is extremely loud and very aggressive. I have never heard an exhaust system as loud and aggressive. Resonance does seem to be an issue.
The build quality doesn't seem to be bad but it's certainly not as good as the stainless systems.

They are Flowmasters. I use their full system headers on back and run
the stock cat on my 89 running a blue printed ZZ4 short block/ported 113 heads with larger valves/Mini Ram II/ ZZ409 cam/emissions delete except cat and passed IL emissions test on the roller.
Can be very loud and resonate but seem to be mellowing with age 4-5K on them. Y pipes are 3.5 inches to 3.0 inches into cat - 3.0 inches to rear Y and 2.75 inches into the mufflers so they flow very well. Other negatives beside being loud are you need to touch them up a couple of times per season with black HiTemp paint and I had to fab an extra hanger off my C beam and use 5 stainless sheet metal screws and a regular exhaust pipe clamp on each side in place of the band clamps provided to keep the rear Y pipe from moving downward due to Z51 suspension and rough roads. I didn't want to weld the rear pipes so I could remove on the garage floor. Has worked all summer over 3,000 miles of driving so far. Very beefy system but the coating job on the headers is only fair but fit is good.
They use flowmasters and the kit doesn't fit very well at all (it wasn't designed for your LT4)...trust me...I got it several years ago and had to get it modified several times to fit and look decent...IMO, don't waste your time and money.
Were I to get the system it would simply be from the cat back---I would keep the two precats and the main cat. Currently, I use the square tipped muffler eliminators on my '89 Ebay rat, which I actually like a great deal. The y-pipe is going, though, which is what got me thinking. My hope would be that it it is more aggressive sounding than the eliminators, but not as problematic as if headers were installed, cats removed etc.
