Default LT1 intake modding question

I have a few friends that are into import tuner cars and their over head cam heads have a bouble port like a Chevy head.To improve air flow cut the center vain to a knives edgeNow if you took a LT1 intake and removed the center vain and then cut the center avin in the head to a knives edge making the port larger would you improve performance or would it screw with the power balance

if I understand this correctly you would like to feed 2 cyl through one large runner/port. I have never hear of this being done but I belive this would probably cause a flow imbalance. Plus It would effectivly reduce the intake runner length from 3.5in to about 0

back in the day, we ran a rail with hilborn injection...inlet stacks were removeable, came in diff lengths to allow tuning....we tried very, very short stacks and went slower

The LT1 intake has very short runners. Most porting will hurt port velocity, and take away from your low end performance. I've yet to see a ported LT1 intake with a documented HP gain.
