Default LT1 timing set.... advice needed

Need a timing set for the '94 Corvette. Looking for the best quality that is a direct bolt in and will work with the stock timing cover and '94 Opti. What should I buy?

Oh come on. What a great time to go to an electric water pump and later opti so you can use a true double roller! Probably the GM is your best bet. You could check with some of the aftermarket companies too to see is there's a direct replacement upgrade. I'm not positive but I don't think the GM Extreme Duty will work with the early opti drive.

Lunati makes a timing set that will work with the Gen I opti. But, I've yet to see anyone running one. Summit Racing sells this set for ~$175.

When I do mine Im going with the Meziere HD pump for $200 and the coyles billet true double roller timing chain from summit for $76. Together, cheaper than the GM timing chain I think. Unless you are trying to keep it stock.

I'm not trying to keep it stock, but I have absolutely no interest in an electic water pump. I will be using a stock '94 water pump.

Default My personal recommendation..

Cloyes True Roller replacement set.. no fitment issues, no electric water pump BS, a high-quality piece. It's a large single link true roller setup, as opposed to the original "silent link" design.

i have one but its just a better quality version of the OE setup In hindsight I should have upgraded to latter equipment for the double roller but I didn't see the point since my HP goal was only about 450

They're available for both generations, and I've installed them on both with ZERO problems. Not cheap though (nothing quality is).
