Some sensors on the car,I didnt even drain anything.I removed it and replaced it fast enough while some coolant came out,but not bad enough to cause a flood anywhere.This was true for the L98 sensor located in the cylinder head.
If thats doable,do it that way.Depends on the engine,location of sensor/ease of access and replacing,or etc.If theres an optispark nearby,I wouldnt recommend that.

Just be quick and there is no mess. Be sure coolant is cold.

the only thing I can add is if the oil level sensor on the pan is in the same spot as LT1 then try to cover it so it does not get colant on it. Nothing destroys electircal conections better than engine coolant (maybe seawater)
