my TPS voltage is .77V at idle and goes to 9.5V at WOT, i've heard it should be around .54V at idle to 5V at WOT but some say the 90-91 is different than others with how the computer uses the TPS, should i replace my TPS?
Your normal voltage ranges should be in the FSM. If you have a FSM use it to check the wiring out and the normal voltages. I don't have that refrence information or I would post it. I wouldn't spend money on a new TPS until you confirm that one bad. Perhaps someone with a 91 FSM can chime in.
your ecm takes any voltage between o.3 and o.9 vdc and resets itself to use this as ''correct'' throttle idle 0% ...voltages at idle outside those will turn on the ''ses'' lite
the ecm outputs a nominal 5.0 vdc signal to the tps...if you are seeing 9+ vdc in that circuit, something is wrong, prepare to see smoke.
