Default Can LTPWS Light Bulb Be Removed?

Before I begin disassembling the dash on my 96 LT1 I'd like to know if the LTPWS dash light bulb can be individually removed.

The LTPWS light has been "on" since I bought the car and now that the seller is balking at the cost he'd have to pay to replace two wheel sensors, I'm looking to remove the bulb, if that's possible.

When I buy new wheels, I plan to remove the remaining two wheel sensors and pretend the car never even had that option.

Hope someone has done this before and can walk me through the procedure.

Thanks,

Jake

after:

-taking a paperclip
-unbending it
-heating it with a lighter
-poking it through the front of the info panel...
-RAMMING THE DAMNED LIGHTBULB WITH THE PAPERCLIP UNTIL THE STUPID BULB BROKE...

I later discovered that the lightbulb can in fact be removed...

you do have to take the info center off, though...

ROFL!

I think I'll use plan "B" and pull the info center. Thanks for that tip.

Well, I had it today and it only took about 30 minutes, start to finish.

Removed:

Four screws holding console lid

Shifter button and ****

Three screws holding shifter console

Three screws holding Information Center bezel

Two screws holding upper A/C Vent

Three screws holding Information Center to be able ti access the bulb.

Pulled the bulb, then screwed everthing back in reverse order.

All in all, very easy.

Jake, what I did was remove the DIC cover, and put a piece of electrical tape on the underside of it.

Yep, I guess either way'll work, but once I reached the point of being able to remove the DIC cover, there were only a few screws left to be able to access and remove the bulb itself.

In fact, when I got to that point, I first tried to pull the bulb with a pair of needle nose pliars, but couldn't get a grip on the slippery surface.

Then I thought of just breaking the bulb with a philips screwdriver, but when I looked closer and saw I was "right there", only a few screws away from accessing the bulb from the rear, I decided "Hey, why not!?"
