How is the "Capacitor looking thing" hooked up? It's mounted on the rear side of the driver side cylinder head with the brake booster hardline.
I think mine was bolted to one of the bell housing bolts. I've done this job several times and I never had to unbolt this from the back of either of my heads. BTW, this is the tach filter.

Yes you can. Knock out the roll pin with a punch and hammer to replace. Click here

BAT is pink, TACH is white. The cap is labeled as to which goes where.

Part# 90093. Pack of 4. I got them at Kragen. About $4.00. They hang on the misc part isle. Here's the actual package for your reference.

You can use a regular hose clamp for this purpose if you had to. Or you can get the original clamp from CC or a local dealer. Click here.
87 and up cars are supposed to have the 2 bolt flange style EGR pipe to exhaust manifold connection style that replaced the crimp clamp. Some aftermarket headers might still have the old style though. What long tubes do you have?
I just live a couple towns away from you(Salem) Let me know if you need a hand buttoning that puppy back up. I actually responded to your craigs list add last week and didn't get a response back from you
Thank you Chucks88 for the offer, but the head gasket blew at my folks house in NY. Just to make sure I plug the filter between the distributor and tach wire right? I didn't see it in the wiring diagram.
Thanks again!
