I've been looking for an exhaust sytems for a time now. I see a ton of bits and pieces but haven't found a "complete" system yet. Any sugestions? I'd like to find something that bolts to the existing manifolds and deletes the pre cats and has a single high capacity cat and the rest down to the exhaust tips. Quieter the better.. Any experiences appreciated. Would consider mixing parts as long as all is compatible and FITS without having to cut/weld.. Arlon

stock manifolds are really bad imo. if u do exhaust, do it right!

True, you get a better fit that way, but he wants not cutting/welding.
Last time I had a "custom" exhaust system done buy someone that came recommended by a dozen people it almost ended up in court. It was such a poorly thought out, expensive, unserviceable piece of rusted garbage. It really turned me off of the idea of ever having a "pipe bender" touch one of my cars again. I'm sure there are some good ones out there I just have to see some of their work first. It will take some history before I trust a "bender" again.
I took my Vette to Mufflex in Trenton, NJ and their guys are artists with forming SS pipe.
Recently I had some clowns at a local Midas shop f--k up a simple job on the stock exhaust of my '88 IROC; took 4 guys over 4hrs but they managed to screw the pooch horribly. OK, off to Denny and his guys at Mufflex; 20min later his guy had her whisper quiet.
I would suggest getting a referal from the local drag strip. A shop that the guys trust must maintain a good rep as their custom work depends on it.
Good luck with getting a nice exhaust on your Vette.
You can get the high flow bolt up main cat and a rear Y pipe as well from www.madvet.com. In other words order all five pieces and the clamps from the same place and you will have a complete system.
