90 Vette electrical problems
My dad has a 90 vette that he purtchased new, he only drove two months off the year last year ... he took the car to a dealer because the radio was not working they changed out the radio and then the speed gauge was not working. So they jump some wiring and when he got the car back they hade installed a main battery swith because there was somthing in the AC that runs down the battery in two days Now I have changed back to the original stereo equipment and have "SYS" flashing. I can not read codes and CEL does not come on. I tried to shorten out dlc plug, I have changed ICM and nothing!! and the AC self test is blinking. It is coming up as a UART failure ... I don't know what that means. Also when I check the dashboard indicator lights, I found that they had removed the indicator light for the air bags!! Can someone please assist me. I am in Sweden so there are no local resources to aide me. ROLF

Rolf: I suggest you post this in the "Tech" section. Many good people "hang out" there and may can help you. I have some tech knowledge, but I would not know where to start on your problem.

You need to start out by getting a factory service manual .Then you can check codes correctly, if you keep re-wiring and grounding terminals you are going to end up with an expensive mess. If you post your location, maybe someone local could help.
