Eradispeed Rotors
What do you guys think about these rotors. http://www.eradispeed.com They look awesome and i want a set bad. Only 800$ :eek: Do they actually help that much on a street car?

I have been doing alot of research on these and other rotors and calipers lately. I want to upgrade to 13", and if your brakes are 12" you should too. There is more to it than adding rotors to make this a killer combo. I am at a crossroads with it. You can buy GS calipers, Baer or buy a C5 conversion kit and put on Z06 calipers :cool: . While you are at it add the stainless steel brake lines, new pads and bias spring. I figure that this is going to run closer to $1,400+ or so.
With 5 spoke wheels these will add a heck of a WOW factor to your ride. I don't think these are as strong as needed for some serious racing but for the street they are awesome.

What are you using the car for, and what are your expectations? There's no way to give you an intelligent response without knowing your goals.
*IF* you participate routinely in roadcourse events, there *could* be some benefit, but I doubt it. If all you are going to do is change the rotors and not upgrade the rest of your entire braking system, it's clearly a waste. If all you want is "the look", then none of the real world reasons matter, just do it. ;)

I mostly use the corvette for street use, I will go to the track 1-3 times a year. However, I wanted brakes that functioned better and didn't warp as quickly as stock. I also wanted something that looked better than stock due to the ZR1 rims.
I have the eradispeeds, GS Calipers, Paragon SS Lines, DRM bias spring and Cermix cerammic pads.

You will see how the front gets filled in nice with the 13".
I strongly looked at going to the z06 brakes. But the cost to do the front only was the same as doing all 4 with the setup I currently have.
From what I understand, the Z06 caliper is a more rigid one, flexing less, giving better stopping and wear. But for my use the difference is negligible

They look great. Not to rain on anybody's parade there's a couple of considerations when going to two piece rotors....The main benefit to a two piece rotor utilizing an aluminum hat is to reduce unsprung weight. The stock cast iron rotor is actually better for handling heat however. There's more mass, and iron is not as good a conductor of heat as aluminum. With the aluminum hats you are actually transferring more heat to your hub bearings, and therefore reducing their lifespan. Using a stock sized two piece rotor offers no real benefit in braking performance. If you had thicker or larger diameter rotors, then you would have a net gain in braking capability. The non floater two piece rotors *must* be carefully bolted together and checked for run out to avoid chatter and piston knock back.
Having said all of that, if it's "the look" you wanted to achieve, you certainly have met your goal.
