I spent half a day under my dash of my 92 LT1 convertible looking for the yellow and brown wires to disable the VATS system but I couldn't find them. Does anyone know if the wire colors are different for a 92? Or exactly where the wires are run?
Thanks
I believe the wires are white/black and purple/white, from the CCM to a black connector (base of stearing column) . The wires go thru the connector (A&B) and are both black and go up the column to the lock cylinder.
Also be aware that if you install the resistor, you have not eliminated VATS, but have only bypassed the pellet in the key and hence that portion of the lock cylinder. VATS is still very much alive and still working. Everything it controls still has to function properly.
