Default Injectors...

Thinking about buying some 91 injectors to replace the stock injectors on my 89. Will these work?

I believe they will work, but they are also the high failure rate/unservicable Multec injectors. I would try a different brand. JMO

If my memory serves me right I think you need to do '88 or earlier to get the better injectors.

hahaha I upgraded my 86 injectors with factory 89 Lucas injectors
all I had to do was get them cleaned and flow matched. They work as good as gold

Just baught some ford 22.5lb injectors made for the L98. They come with electrical adapters so they are easier to instal and a 3 year waranty with unlimited miles... $400.00 for 8.

I got them off 5-0 motorsports but I think there is another place you can get em that has a better shipping reputation. Best of Luck!

So the 91's are the multecs? I thought it was the 89 injectors which were multecs thus the reason to get away from them. The 91's have about 10k miles on them and the guy wants $50 which I thought was a good deal.

Your thoughts?

About 8 years ago, I put a set of SVO 24# injectors in my '91 L98. They worked perfect for years with 370 rwhp. As far as I know, they are problably still in the car.

I bought them from Thunder Racing:

89 was the year the Multecs were first installed and they were the same through 91. Changing to the 91's will not be any different that your originals.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll pass on the Multecs since I've already got some.

I bought my FMS 24# injectors on ebay about 2 years ago for $140. Look on ebay and see if you can find a set of eight. They are GREAT injectors.

the only problem I had when ordering from 5-0 is that they had to back order the electrical adapters from the wherehouse and it took a while. I had to call to see why my order hadn't come in because I was supposed to be in a car show in 4 days.

Well I called them up and they overnight shipped it.. and I got to go to the car show

so i had a good experience over all, but I've heard bad things thats all...
