Default Is this a good intake?

Ok. I found this at zip-produts...Its a Black Vortex Rammer Cold Air System. Right now I have a K&N filter and the cut-lid. I am going to sell them as soon as I get a new intake installed. How much power can I expect to gain from this one? I am trying to clean up the engine bay so it doesn't look so old. All information would be greatly appreciated. Any other intakes that will improve power?

Theres been many many threads here about them ram air, cold air intake set ups.Doing a search on some may answer everything you need to know.
That being said, most of them set ups on stock engines isnt going to enhance any more power than what youve done already with your lid and filter.

They will look really nice under the hood though. Most bolt ons for stock TPI engines really dont make or gain any real HP as the ads claim.Be sure to ask the forum before you start buying add ons,as you did here.Several mods I believe have been real world track tested and shown no real gains.

Also, the one mod or mods I do know, and forum members have backed up the claims,is headers and exhaust mods...they seem to be best bang for the buck(s) spent on L98 engines.

Dont expect a noticable improvement over what you have now with any of them, and no, Vortex is not a good intake. Its a piece of crap.

Im working on the exaust. True duals on it right now. Headers down the road. Intake though is top thing on my mind right now. Vader, you said its a "piece of crap". Ok, so can you give me what YOU personally would put in your car or a way to go in from personal experience. Yes I am working with the search forum but I would like personal feedback directly to me. Thanks.

Thank you. Very impressive. I see the "Super" ram. I dont know how much that would run but if this will help me down the road I would like to invest in it. RRT. I the mats are grey. Yours free if you want. I believe theres a black pair somewhere out in my garage. Ill find some stuff this weekend as were having a garage/yard sale to clear out excess junk. Thanks again for all your help.

SuperRam is an intake manifold replacement, not like the Vortex; two completely different things. SR's found used, which is the best bet, will run about $1000.

I'd leave it with a K&N and cut lid. Anything else is not worth the expense.
