shifter shortend 96 LT4

Has anyone tryed this to make the shift throw shorter, you know cut the handle some and put a new **** on the end?

Is that possible for just a manual or automatic also. The new C6 automatic is shorter than mine. I was wondering about that. I woulve thought that it would eventually break or not fit right but I am eager to hear what others have to say also.

The ZF Doc shortens the stock shifter.

Thanks for the info, I am trying to do this with out any cost. Talked to a C5 guy last night and he did it to his Vette and I like the idea of notch shifting

A Hurst shifter from Summit Racing is just $129.95, and a Hurst shifter ball is $33.39. Thats what I had installed in my car. I love it!

Are you a machinist. Do you own a machine shop. If not, then it won't happen at no cost.
