yes there is a difference. Make sure they are exactly the same width before you give them your old rack. If you get the wrong one the toe-in
can not be adusted. I think the total differnce is something like 1".
What I have is a custom one-off hot rod vette using a custom frame. The question to be more specific is that the '84-87 racks have shorter inner tie-rods than the '88-96. This is causing problems and I may just cut off the tie-rod ends off the rack and die some deeper threads onto the shaft.
I don't think this would throw off the steering geometry since I would be just shortening the outside dimension or overall width of the rack...
