It's the hypertehch one... So any info on this guys would help m out alot..thanks
nope fans come on at factory settings i think 227 but even thou i didnt set my fans at 200 it never got higher than 220 standing still..running i was at 176 or soo..just now its getting hot....i did a coolant flush the other day but as far as taking the radiator out nope... have done that... but can the thermo just be bad...
It was in the 70's here today (maybe 80's) and i was around 190.. i thoght it would be a little cooler than that.. sitting it got up to 200. I hope it gets a little lower as the temps start cooling down some more.
If you haven't removed the radiator and cleaned it, you need to. I just removed mine because it was leaking, and I couldn't believe all the crap in there. Leaves, feathers, hair, cigarette butts, sand, rocks, dirt, pieces of rubber and scrap metal. About 1/3 of the radiator was completely blocked off with this stuff. I filled a grocery bag with all the stuff I took out. You can't see any of this unless you remove the upper radiator shroud.
Izover4u, you did a coolant flush .......... there could be an air bubble in the block. there is a bleed port on the block some where. I've read about it but have not used it. seems that it was on the passenger side ...?? ask around or check a manual. good luck
Your 160 degree thermostat has nothing to do with how hot the engine gets. All the thermostat does is open when the car reaches 160 to circulate the radiator coolant. If the system is working correctly you can tell by your temp gauge when the thermostat opens because there will be a slite drop in temperature. This happens before the fans kick in.
If you did not burp the system after flushing, that's your problem. You have a air pocket. It's like being low on coolant.
Good Luck and AMERICA KICKS!!!! :D
well today guys i baught another 160 thermo.. and it lowered the temp...driving now im at 176 and at a stand still like 220...its like before thanks guys...
