I was wondering if anybody could tell me if factory roller lifters are as good as CompCams roller lifters?
I'm building a 383 motor for my 1988 corvette that has a 150 shot of nitrous and a ATI Procharger with intercooler and a TPIS mini ram and a ZZ9 cam. I can get brand new factory roller lifters at a good price. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Don

It depends. Are you comparing oem hydraulic rollers to the comp cam oem style replacement lifter or comparing it to a retro fit style lifter?
I have an original roller block and it would be the oem roller lifters. I contacted TPIS and Lingenfelter and the both said that factory lifters would be okay bot my engine builder said about using comp cams and I was wondering if there is a big difference between the two?

Umm, would your engine builder be the one to provide the CC lifters?
Can't give you a definite answer but....
Make sure the Comp lifters are EXACTLY the same length of the original OEM ones... otherwise you'll be doing the 'pushrod shuffle' finding the correct length pushrods to compensate.
