Ferarri muffler
I started my new job as a claims manager in a new office, noticed they had a large muffler sitting in the corner of a cube with glitter, ribbons, etc stuck to it, appears that this muffler came off of a Ferrari 550. Although you can't really see it, one of the tips was bent. This was apparently turned into a traveling trophy in the office as the replacement was $2-3K. Anyway, I was interested to note that the exhaust had two pipes with a vacuum system that was used to open up the second exhaust pipe at higher RPM to free up HP, and close at low RPM to bring up back pressure for Torque(and probably to reduce noise)/
I thought this was interesting considering the noise issues c4 see at cruise. I also pointed out to my new employees that probably ruined a $500-$1000 piece salvage as the tip was not noticeably damaged and muffler only had a few miles on it before the owner took it into the ditch. The same type of muffler is on ebay with a buy it now for $1K.

yea, it does. People are adding switches to manually flip the valve.
I read recently that you can expect to pay $10.00 a MILE to own one of those Ferrari 550s. I love them, but not at that price.
