My 92 was done with a seam in the middle, can't see it. It was done about 7 years ago.
One corner is starting to lift up a bit. Has anyone tried to fix something like this? It's not bad enough to take to a tint shop.
A good quality tinter will remove the struts and cut around them; the struts twist back and forth, and the cutout prevents that twisting from wrinkling the tint around the holes. They will also do one piece and fit it with a heat gun to mold it to the curves. Then they will trim the door windows down about 1/8 inch from the top inside edge and sand the edge of the tint down so it won't get peeled off by the window going up and down. Make sure the tinter uses only top quality metal vapor tints with a lifetime guarentee. Cost for this kind of job will be $170-$200.
Mekanic, I'll be there Saturday at 9am, they are doing my hatch and both doors for $140 cash...Sounded like a good deal, they said they install tint on corvettes quite often....The guy said he installed a silver film on yours but couldn't do the same to me, due to the fact that you already had silver film and was just getting new stuff on, he said they don't install silver film unless a situation like yours....
