Parts Builders???
The ICM thread got me thinking, who makes the parts we use in our cars? I know for a fact that for years Wells made parts for GM,Ford as well as MOPAR. The only difference in the parts sold as Wells or GM was the packaging. If I run out to my Chebby sto and get a genuine AC Delco part how do I know where it was made? Or, if a part is in a AC Delco box does that simply signify that it meets GM quality standards with out regards to where it was made?

I wonder if it matters. Afterall, if you need the part, it failed, so is OE necessarily the best? Some pieces you have to get that way (like a speaker grille or something), but for mechanicals, I am not convinced OE is the best replacement all the time.
