If you look at the crossmember in front of the motor, there should be some oval-shaped holes at either end and the build sheet may be visible through one of them. If you can see it, it might be removable but you will need some long needle-nose pliers to carefully roll the sheet into a very small coil and thread it through the hole.
The best way to get one is to buy it fron the National Corvette Museum.
Has anyone found the build sheet in the frame on a late C4? Where was it?
Hi I am currently changing an engine in a 1994 C4 and I found the build sheet in the frame on the passanger side. right where the engine mount is located. I do not believe you can remove it with out tearing it up. I was able to just pull a small piece of it out and it hade the s/n and the dealer name and address.
There is another one on top of your gas tank. Mines there but its glued on and wont come off unless I drop the tank down and use some kind of remover solvent.

Funny this should come up. I just got a new cradle for my 92 and while cleaning the grease out, found a build sheet in the right side cavity. Never knew they put one in there till now.
On my '95 a build sheet was on the passenger side top & rear of the gas tank. It was stuck under the radio ground plane and the tank mounting strap but I got most of it via the hole under the license tag. The missing part was about 1"X 4" from the sheet's lower right corner so the VIN, dealer destination and all the codes were on the retrieved pieces. The paper was very fragile so it tore some. It was also very dirty but it's nice to have the actual sheet.
I found the sheet from my one owner '66 Impala in 2002 during restoring it. It was inside the passenger front fender - and it's the actual factory sheet.
