recently i changed out the battery on the car, it ran great, stopped off some place for awhile, went to start, evertything got knock out, with a cluck sound, played with the battery cable (pos), everything lights up, turn key, it all gets knocked out again, happened about 3 times before catching and starting,
still having problem, but cant get it to start yet,
im just wondering if its the alternator or something else in the electical system before i drop it off at teh shop to be fixed

sorry about that,
when you put the key in and turn it one notch, everything lights up, but when you turn it to start the engine, it makes a clunk sound and everythings dies and all imstrutments panels and indicators goes off,
when you turn key off and back again, everything lights back up, until you try to start again,
sounds like a loose connection at the starter or the battery my car tried this the other night and i yanked on the battery cable and it started right up so today i cleaned the corrison of the the terminal and tightend every thing up, i would check your connections at the battery then at he starter also what is your voltage gauge showing
I'm guessing that your lights go out when you hit, "crank", on the ign sw. This is caused by a poor cable connection to the battery. Remove both cables (neg first) and clean the cable lugs, battery terminals, and the bolts and replace the cables (neg last). Check the negative cable connection to the frame and clean and tighten it too if the battery connection cleanup doesn't fix your problem. Measure the no load battery terminal voltage, it must be higher than 12.0 volts or the battery is discharged and needs charging. 12.9 and higher is considered charged. If the battery is charged, all connections are clean and tight and you still have the lights go out when attempting to crank, you have a defective battery.

I had a similar problem with a bad soleniod on the starter. If your battery cables don't fix it, that would be where I would go next.
