Default Can't identify part
In my '89 gas tank on the electrical connection to the fuel pump there is some kind of semiconductor, filter, or fuse in the electrical line. The new connection that came with a new fuel pump does'nt have the part. What is it and is it needed?

No picture but the dimension is about 1''x 1/2" x 1/4" rectangular shape in a molded plastic enclosure.

If it's anything like my replacement AC Delco fuel pump....you will have to splice the wires.
